Sri Lanka’s most innovative fashion brand, Odel is born. And so is our very first store at Dickmans Road. This 1, 165 sq. ft. store was initially converted into a factory outlet, which allowed shoppers to purchase those ‘must-have’ items at unbelievably discounted prices.

The first year of aggressive expansion is marked by the 11,000 sq. ft. store on Dutugemunu Street, Kohuwala and a 4, 000 sq. ft. store in Ja-Ela.

A CSR initiative to improve the wellbeing of animals and create communities free of ‘street dogs’ is launched. Embark branded merchandise became an instant success at Odel.
Embracing opportunities and entering into a new phase of expansion – Odel set up a Warehouse in Nugegoda. This was followed by a dramatic opening event for its 6, 000 sq. ft. store in the coastal suburb of Mount Lavinia and a 3,000 sq. ft. store in Moratuwa.
The 11th outlet in the Odel chain opens in Panadura, followed by the 12th at Maharagama and 13th at Battaramulla.
The 12th store now offers Odel’s one-of-a-kind ambience to the suburban shopper. The modern, sleek structure gives customers 500 sq ft of Ladieswear, 3500 sq ft of Menswear, 2500 sq ft of Kidswear and so much more.
It is the first store since Odel’s successful IPO and is the 13th outlet. It encompasses all the departments that go into making up the quintessential Odel experience.
Odel continues to expand rapidly by opening a store in the heart of the Kiribathgoda town. This outlet consists of two floors and 9,000 sq ft of trend-defining retail space.
This is the first location outside the Greater Colombo area and occupies 4, 200 sq ft of lifestyle shopping space. For the first time, Odel offers the residents of Kandy and its environs its own unique fashion retial experience.
Comprising 12, 000 sq ft, Odel opened a characteristically stylish store in Wattala. Among the diverse array of merchandise, the new outlet offers casual and formal wear for men, women and children, as well as its own ‘Embark,’ ‘Backstage,’ ‘Souvenir’ and ‘Delight’ departments.
